Many groups have inactive members, who come to meetings but are quiet and don’t volunteer to do anything.

What can the core members do to activate the inactive?

One of the most interesting and useful findings of the Missing Class study is that there are three main strategies used by core members to activate the inactive, each used in groups with a different class composition and movement tradition -- and each strategy grows out of a different understanding of leadership, and each has different implications for group process.
